Postcards
One of my favourite stops on the Harry Potter walking tour of London was the street that is believed to have been the model for Diagon Alley. Cecil Court is just off Charing Cross Road (as Diagon Alley is described in the novels) and contains a number of shops selling books and items related to magic and mythology. Our guide told us that Cecil Court is one of JK Rowling’s favourite places. What I really liked about this stop on our Harry Potter walking tour is that it was not a filming location! It was all about the books and the author. Fans do not just enjoy visiting the places in the story. They also enjoy hearing how the author came up with the story … or at least that’s what I enjoyed hearing most.
